Pocket-Lint reviews the Panasonic G1 and writes;
âThe good: Compact body, ease of control, great performance, articulating screen. The bad: New camera system means less accessories, those with big hands might find it too smal. Verdict: We love the compact body and the level of control that you get. We also love the full articulation of the screen: itâs a real bonus and helps make the G1 a really fun camera to useâ Rating:
SteveâsDigicams reviews the Panasonic G1 and writes;
âI have no problem giving the DMC-G1 a very high recommendation to those who are interested in taking the leap into the dSLR world, but donât want to carry around a huge bulky camera. â Rating:N/A Panasonic Lumix Dmc Tz4 Manual
CameraLabs reviews the Panasonic G1 and writes; âOverall image quality is also of course greatly influenced by the optics and weâre pleased to report both the G VARIO 14-45mm and 45-200mm kit lenses perform well for their class, delivering sharper results to the edge of their frames than most kit lenses of rival systems.â Rating:
PCMag reviews the Panasonic G1 and writes;
âDMC-G1 took some good shots between ISOs 100 and 800 on a sunny day in Manhattanâ¦Unfortunately, the DMC-G1 isnât small or light enough to justify buying it. Perhaps the second generation will be the game-changer weâve been waiting for.â Rating:
InfoSync reviews the Panasonic G1 and writes;
âPros: Rivals prosumer models in terms of image quality. Packed with features. Excellent electronic viewfinder performance and swivel LCD is highly convenient. Cons: Compatible with a limited number of interchangeable lenses. Buttons are too small. â Rating:
CNET.au reviews the Panasonic G1 and writes;
âPanasonic Lumix DMC-G1 is incredibly refined, though not perfect. Still, its size, image quality and design will undoubtedly sway many a first-time SLR buyer. â Rating:
RegHardware reviews the Panasonic G1 and writes;
âWith the camera using a smaller sensor than a DSLR, we expected noise to be a problem, but this wasnât noticeable until around ISO 800⦠Thereâs a lot to like about the G1, but it has the feeling of a product still undergoing development. â Rating:
GoodGearGuide reviews the Panasonic G1 and writes;
âItâs not a traditional D-SLR but the LUMIX DMC-G1K is definitely as versatile as one, and much more compact. Itâs easy to use, and its images are very sharp. Give it a go if you want something that wonât compromise your mobility yet will give you the flexibility to change lenses. â Rating:
TrustedReviews reviews the Panasonic G1 and writes;
âG1 is a revolutionary camera that delivers on its promise of SLR-like quality in a compact bodyâ¦In terms of performance and especially image quality it matches other Four-Thirds system DLSRs. The only downside is the high price compared to an entry-level full-size DLSR. â Rating:
TechRadar reviews the Panasonic G1 and writes;
âThe G1 impresses with its very good EVF, lightning-fast AF, excellent lens and strong, natural colour rendition. But after a while you may find yourself hankering after the simplicity and clarity of an old-fashioned optical viewfinder, and a smaller and simpler set of controls.â Rating:
Photoxels reviews the Panasonic G1 and writes;
âoverall image quality of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 at ISO 100 to be excellent with good details in the shadows and highlights. Images up to ISO 400 are also low in noise. ISO 800 is usable. Noise is objectionable at higher ISOs.â Rating:N/A
DCI reviews the Panasonic G1 and writes;
âImage quality results from the lab also earned our respect: not flawless certainly, particularly when it comes to image noise, but competitive with the traditional SLRs we benchmarked it against and, in several cases, superior. â Rating:N/A

âThe Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1 is a camera that people will either love for its speed, photo quality, and interchangeable-lens flexibility or hate for its large-ish size, electronic viewfinder and occasionally frustrating designâ Rating:
DCRP reviews the Panasonic G1 and writes;
â Camera performance was very good in almost all areas⦠Low light focusing was good as well, with focus times generally staying under one second. â Rating: N/A
Gizmodo reviews the Panasonic G1 and writes;
â The G1âs digital viewfinder is excellent, but itâs no comparison to looking at the real world as you shoot. Factor in the G1âs relatively poor high-ISO performance and tiny lens selection and itâs a no brainer.â Rating: N/A
DCWatch reviews the Panasonic G1 (Japanese Translation) and writes;
âDMC-L10 more than the number of pixels are sensitive to noise at the time were concerned, ISO400 enough to be able to feel normal. ISO800, but the noise is well suppressed, but this process is strong because of noise reduction, detail the thread of care is blurred. Well, will be used, depending on conditions. ISO1600â¦.â Rating: N/A
DCR reviews the Panasonic G1 and writes;
âI was excited about the Lumix G1 initially, and working with the actual product has done little to dampen this enthusiasm. If you can get past the initial sticker shock, the G1 may just offer the âbest of both worldsâ when it comes to SLRs and point-and-shoots.â Rating: N/A
CNET reviews the Panasonic G1 and writes; ââThe good: Compact size; easy operation; 3-inch swiveling LCD; innovative Live View Finder; good image quality. The bad: dSLR-like styling hard to differentiate from other shooters; displays are laggy under dim lighting. The bottom line: Panasonic has set the benchmark for the Micro Four Thirds Standard with the G1, a very capable shooter for those who want to upgrade to a slightly more advanced camera from a point-and-shoot. Rating:
ImagingResource reviews the Panasonic G1 and writes;
âOverall, the lens and camera combination was quite good. Colors look good, detail is strong despite the softness, and white balance is pretty well on in most situations. Even indoor incandescent lighting is detected and compensated for about as well as Iâd like.â Rating: N/A

CNETasia reviews the Panasonic G1 and writes;
âThe startup time for the G1 was almost instant in our Lab tests, and this was similar to what we got on most dSLRs. Shutter lag, however, clocked about 0.15 to 0.2 second, which was typical with what we got on conventional point-and-shoots⦠â Rating:
DCRP reviews the Panasonic G1 and writes;
âPhoto quality was very good. The G1 took well-exposed photos with pleasing, accurate colors.kit lens had minimal barrel distortion and corner blurriness, and no vignetting⦠noise under control until you hit ISO 800 in low light, and ISO 1600 in good light. At that point there will be noticeable detail loss.â Rating: N/A
NYTimes reviews the Panasonic G1 and writes;
âThe pictures look wonderful, the color is rich and true. The low-light abilities put compact cameras to shame. And all of the effects that would be impossible with a typical small camera â trailing car lights, frozen splashes, eight-second star-trail exposures â are easy to dial up with this one.â Rating: N/A Panasonic G1 Samples

Panasonic G1 Press Release
Secaucus, NJ (September 12, 2008) â Panasonic today announced the worldâs first Micro Four Thirds system camera, the LUMIX DMC-G1, the worldâs smallest and lightest digital interchangeable lens camera, weighing in at approximately 385 grams (0.85 lbs).* Based on the new Micro Four Thirds System standard, the LUMIX G1 eliminates the internal mirror structure that defines digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) cameras, thus reducing the size and weight by nearly half.** With the mirror-less system, the G1âs flange back, which is the distance between the mount and the image sensor, has been reduced from 40 mm â as specified in the Four Thirds System â to approximately 20 mm.
The new Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G1 will enhance the advanced photo quality and flexibility made possible by the Four Thirdsà System, and with its innovative design, consumers will appreciate the portability of a smaller camera body and lenses. The G1 will be available in mid-November as a kit with the new LUMIX G VARIO 14-45mm/F3.5-5.6 ASPH/MEGA O.I.S lens. Also available in November, and announced today, is the LUMIX G VARIO 45-200mm/F4.0-5.6/MEGA O.I.S.lens. Lg optimus v vm670 user manual.
âWith the LUMIX G1, we are filling a void that has existed for a long time in the digital camera market, because consumers wanted the power of an SLR, but previous models were bulky and inconvenient,â said David Briganti, National Marketing Manager, Imaging, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company. âThe LUMIX G answers this challenge as consumers can benefit from the flexibility of changing lenses; a quick Auto Focus; and a sensor that produces high-quality photos. By packing all those powerful assets into an extremely compact body with easy-to-use features familiar to point-and-shoot users, we are excited about G, as it brings new possibilities to the consumer.â
The LUMIX G1 is also the worldâs first interchangeable lens camera that will come with color variety â with availability in black, blue and red models â allowing consumers to personalize their style through color, something very popular with point-and-shoot camera models.

Panasonic LUMIX DMC-SZ1 digital camera boasts a powerful 10x (24-240mm) ultra wide-angle LEICA DC optical zoom lens in the slim, compact body. It offers an impressive 16.1 Megapixel CCD sensor for beautiful image quality. And a 3.0-inch Intelligent LCD monitor automatically adjusts the backlight depending upon the environment's lighting.
Lumix DMC-SZ1 features a 16.1-megapixel CCD. Combined with the Venus Engine, this sensor enables the recording of beautiful photos and high-definition videos with higher quality signal processing. The Sonic Speed AF helps to catch even the most fleeting photo opportunities.
The high-quality LEICA DC lens system is even more versatile with 25mm ultra wide-angle to powerful 10x optical zoom. 25mm wide-angle lens enhances all kinds of shooting situations, like when you're photographing a group of people at an indoor party or shooting a large structure or sweeping landscape while traveling. And the 10x optical zoom gives you highly natural expressions from people and animals that you can't get close to.
The MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) compensates for the blurring caused by hand-shake. Even slight hand-shake movement is accurately detected by a sampling frequency of 4,000 times per second, and compensated to produce sharp, clear images.
DMC-SZ1 can record 720p (1280 x 720) HD videos in MP4 format. This format has high compatibility with computers. The 10x optical zoom is available in video recording.
The DMC-SZ1 feature 2 new shooting modes â Miniature Effect and Panorama Shot. The Miniature Effect Mode in which the peripherals are defocused while saturation and contrast is emphasized to make the picture looks like a diorama. The video recorded in this mode is played back in 10x fast-forwarding making it more comical to watch. The Panorama Shot in the Scene Mode makes it possible to shoot horizontal / vertical panoramic images by overlaying consequently shot images. The Auto Retouch function adjusts contrast and brightness to give different impression to the photo with just a press of a button.
The iA (Intelligent Auto) mode lets users leave everything to the camera to take beautiful images. Once you enter the iA mode, these multi-capable functions happen automatically, so that you can shoot without the bother of adjusting settings every time conditions change.
